A chemical Peel is a very popular service because it is the most effective treatment to address the common skin conditions including, Anti-aging and acne. In many cases it is more effective when combined with our facial laser treatments, which is why we offer it here in Parkland.
In our youth, skin cells naturally turn-over every 18-20 days resulting in a healthy vibrant look. As we age this process slows down giving us a dull, chalky appearance. A chemical peel stimulates cell turn-over to give back that radiant look we remember.
If you are experiencing acne from high bacteria levels or from hormonal skin, chemical peels are an excellent way to help correct these conditions.
With over 10 different formulations, our medical staff will customize a peel to effectively treat your skin. Chemical Peels are one of the most effective and affordable ways to turn back the hands of time.*
Benefits of Chemical Peels
Chemical peels clean dead skin cells from the surface of your skin to allow lighter, brighter, newer skin to grow. Chemical peels have been used since ancient times to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Modern chemical peels don’t just make you look younger; they can also address skin conditions like acne, melasma, sun-damage, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and even precancerous growths. Individual results will vary in each client depending on the type of skin condition and chemical peel received. Let’s look at the benefits of skin peels.*
Chemical Peels Can Help Make You Look Younger*
Many people get chemical peels for cosmetic reasons. Mild chemical peels reduce a portion of the epidermis, or upper layer of the skin. They can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, and improve skin texture.*
Medium-depth skin peels minimize more of the surface of the skin, penetrating down to the dermis, or secondary layer of the skin. Medium-depth skin peels can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, providing results that last much longer than those associated with mild peels.*
Skin Peels May Diminish Sun Damage*
Many people get chemical peels to reduce sun-spots, age spots or other types of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Mild and medium-depth chemical peels can minimize sun-spots, freckles and sun damage, or help the discoloration fade especially in combination with photo light therapies. Medical grade peels can be used in combination with microdermabrasion’s, lasers/IPL and medical grade skin care for an incredible non-invasive transformation of your skin.*

How to prepare for your peel?
In preparation for a chemical peel, you will need to stop using any topical prescription exfoliating products and glycolic acids products for at least 3-4 days before your treatment. A chemical peel may not be done if you have recently used isotretinoin (Accutane), had recent facial surgery, an active herpes infection on the area to be treated, an impaired immune system, or known allergies to certain medicines.
About the Peeling Process
For chemical peels, the amount of “peeling” that occurs is dependent on the state of your skin. If you have had many peels, your skin won’t have much dead skin to “peel.” If you have never had a peel before, then your skin may have a lot of buildup and it may take several peels before you start to peel significantly. This is one reason why we recommend a series of peels. If you have never had a peel before it will be difficult to predict how much peeling you will have. We suggest you be prepared for significant peeling and plan accordingly with your lifestyle. The real benefit to a chemical peel is what’s happening underneath the top layer of the skin, the stimulation of collagen growth. The short-term benefit is the peeling of the top layer of skin. The goal with chemical peels is to stimulate healthy internal cells so that new healthy outer layers of skin will regenerate over time giving your skin a beautiful, healthy glow.
What kinds of peels are offered?
We offer superficial and medium depth peels. A superficial peel is the mildest type of chemical peel and can be used on most skin types. Medium peels penetrate the skin more deeply. We offer a chemical peel for almost any skin type. We use a variety of chemical peels using blended solutions and stand-alone solutions. A thorough consultation with our clinical aesthetician will help determine which peel is best for you. Below is a summary of some of the peels we offer:
Great for aging skin and those with hyper pigmentation. This AHA peel penetrates deeper than a lactic acid peel and is ideal for aging skin. It addresses fine lines, reduces acne scars, improves skin tone and texture as well as pigment concerns and stimulates collagen production, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and renewed. Can be added to any facial treatment. A series of six treatments is recommended for best results, individual results will vary.*
Ideal for thick, oily and/or acne-prone skin.
This peel contains salicylic acid to break down oil and exfoliate inside and outside the follicle walls. A series of three treatments is recommended for best results. Mild flaking may be expected.*
Lactic Acid Peel
Ideal for first-time peelers and sensitive skin types. This AHA peel lightens and brightens while helping the skin retain moisture. Can be added to any facial treatment. Very minimal peeling is expected.*
Ideal for those with pigment abnormalities, acne and photo damage. This treatment is the next step above a Retinol Peel and a Salicylic Acid Peel. It addresses various skin conditions, such as hyper pigmentation, breakouts and sun damage. Cannot be combined with any other treatment. A series of three treatments is recommended for best results.*
Ideal for those with stubborn hyper-pigmentation, moderate acne and oiliness. More aggressive than a Vitalize Peel, this peel renews oily and acneaic skin while reducing the look of discoloration.
