How to Prepare for Restylane Refyne Injections
If your facial age signs are a match for a Restylane Refyne treatment, you will be given essential steps to follow before your session, including the following:
- Avoid blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications for seven to 10 days.
- Stay away from dehydrating foods and drinks (like alcohol) for three days.
- Shower the day of, but please do not apply makeup, lotion, or other topical products.
What to Expect After Restylane Refyne Injections
No special recovery period is required after this non-surgical procedure, allowing you to head home immediately. Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours. Very minor swelling or tenderness on or near the treatment sites can occur for up to two weeks. As these diminish, you should see your results continue to improve.
The effects of Restylane Refyne typically last up to a year. After this, patients can return for a maintenance treatment session.

Alternative and Complementary Treatments
We usually give our patients more than one Restylane-brand option, depending on their current symptoms and treatment goals. Defyne, for example, is utilized in a similar fashion to Refyne, but it has a slightly thicker formula better suited for deeper skin folds like laugh and marionette lines. Another Restylane product, Lyft, is instead used on the cheeks and middle of the face to create a more “lifted” appearance.
