Our Sculptra®
Injection Services
Everybody ages differently, and we all show signs of aging at our own pace and in our own unique ways. One thing we know for certain is that as time goes on, our skin will inevitably show the effects of aging. As the years pass by, the production of collagen in our body slows down and the plump and youthful appearance of our skin fades. If you’re looking to make time stand still, restore lost facial volume, and decrease the appearance of deep lines, Sculptra® may be the solution you are looking for.
What Sculptra® Offers
Benefits of Sculptra®
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable filler that contains poly-L-lactic acid. The acid is a synthetic form of natural lactic acid which is naturally produced in the body. When injected beneath the skin, the Sculptra® formula helps to stimulate collagen production in the skin. Sculptra® is typically injected into areas like around the mouth, nose, and chin, but can also be effective in other areas of the body.
Unlike most fillers that offer almost immediate results, Sculptra® works differently. The specific, unique formula stimulates your body to produce more collagen. In return, this shows gradual results over time. Once your skin has built up its natural production of collagen protein, your skin will appear youthful, smooth, and vibrant.
Understanding Collagen
The Sculptra® Consultation
Prior to any cosmetic procedure, you will be required to have a consultation. Here, you will discuss your health history, allergies, skincare goals, treatment plan, and expectations with your healthcare provider. If you are currently breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, we will recommend waiting on Sculptra® until a later date.
We may also discuss things to avoid for 7-10 days prior to your treatment to minimize bleeding and bruising, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Vitamin E, fish oils, and multivitamins. Refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages starting at least three days before a Sculptra® injection treatment.
What Happens During a Sculptra® Procedure?
All of our treatments are performed right in Natura Medspa in Parkland. Your healthcare provider will mark the areas of the face where Sculptra® will be injected and thoroughly clean them. Sculptra® fillers have to be injected carefully for your results to look natural, even, and consistent across the face as it will kickstart collagen production in your body.
What You Can Expect
Results and Recovery
Because Sculptra® works differently than other dermal fillers on the market, results are not seen for three to four months. Treatment plans vary depending on the amount of filler needed, the area being treated, and how quickly the natural collagen production begins. However, most clients will not need repeat injections for at least 24 months to maintain results.
You can resume your daily activities as planned, there is no downtime necessary after treatment. As with any elective cosmetic procedure, side effects and risks are rare and typically mild. Swelling, bruising, redness, itchy and tender skin, as well as lumps at the injection site are common and will typically subside on their own.
Can Sculptra® Be Combined with Additional Cosmetic Treatments?
You can certainly decide to stick with only Sculptra® if you choose. However, many of our clients opt for a multifaceted treatment plan to simultaneously target many different parts of the face and body for uniform and dramatic aesthetic improvements.
For example, Botox® injections are often administered concurrently with Sculptra® since the formula contains an unrelated primary ingredient, works in a completely different way, and is meant for the forehead and upper portion of the face. The combination of Sculptra® and Botox® can significantly impact your overall facial appearance, smoothing lines, and adding much-needed volume simultaneously.
When it comes to comprehensive cosmetic enhancement, pairing Sculptra® with CoolSculpting® can be an excellent option. Many clients, no matter how disciplined they are with diet and exercise, have trouble losing those last pesky inches. If you are struggling with isolated, stubborn pockets of fat, ask us about CoolSculpting® during your consultation. This noninvasive procedure might be the key to unlocking the body contours you’ve been dreaming of.
Typical Cost of Treatment
It’s important to keep in mind that as with any elective cosmetic procedure, insurance will not cover the cost of a Sculptra® treatment. The price will vary depending on the number of syringes and whether it is combined with other treatments. If you need multiple sessions (as well as maintenance appointments over time), those will also affect your total price.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does Sculptra last?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that stimulates collagen production in the skin, offering gradual results with effects lasting around 1 to 2 years, although this can vary due to factors like metabolism, age, lifestyle, and the treatment regimen. Individual results differ, but generally, younger individuals with healthier lifestyles might experience longer-lasting outcomes. Consulting a medical professional is recommended for a personalized assessment of how long Sculptra’s effects are likely to last based on individual characteristics and treatment specifics.
Is Sculptra better than fillers?
Whether Sculptra is better than other dermal fillers depends on individual preferences, desired results, and the specific concerns being addressed. Sculptra and traditional fillers like hyaluronic acid fillers serve different purposes.
Sculptra is unique in that it stimulates collagen production over time, resulting in gradual and natural-looking volume restoration. It’s often used for more widespread volume loss, such as in the cheeks, temples, and jawline. Its results tend to last longer, around 1 to 2 years, but typically require multiple sessions.
Hyaluronic acid fillers provide immediate volume and can be more precise in targeting specific areas, like lips or under-eye hollows. Results typically last from 6 months to a year.
The choice between Sculptra and other fillers depends on factors like the desired outcome, time commitment, and budget. Consulting with a qualified medical professional can help determine which option aligns best with your goals and individual needs.
What are the negatives of Sculptra?
Sculptra offers several benefits for those seeking long-lasting and gradual volume restoration, but it’s important to consider potential drawbacks as well. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate results, Sculptra’s effects develop gradually over weeks to months, which might not suit individuals looking for instant improvements. Multiple treatment sessions are usually necessary, extending the treatment process compared to other fillers. While initial swelling and redness are common after injections, improper technique or inadequate massage could lead to lumps forming beneath the skin. Sculptra administration requires expertise to avoid complications. Temporary side effects like bruising or tenderness can occur. While Sculptra’s results can outlast some fillers, maintenance sessions are still usually recommended. It’s vital to consult an experienced medical professional to determine if Sculptra aligns with your goals and to address any concerns you may have.
Is Sculptra right for me?
Deciding if Sculptra is the right choice for you involves a thoughtful consideration of your specific goals and skin concerns. If you’re seeking a gradual and natural-looking improvement in areas with volume loss, such as the cheeks and temples, or if you’re interested in addressing fine lines and overall skin texture, Sculptra could be a suitable option. However, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified medical professional first. During a consultation, they can assess your individual needs, discuss your expectations, and evaluate your medical history. They’ll help you understand whether Sculptra aligns with your goals and provide insights into the treatment process, including the number of sessions required and the potential timeline for results. This informed discussion will empower you to make a decision that considers factors like your budget, treatment preferences, and desired outcome, ensuring that you make the best choice for achieving your skincare goals.
What are Sculptra injections?
Sculptra injections involve a specialized dermal filler treatment that focuses on stimulating the skin’s collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually over time. The main component of Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid, which is biocompatible and safely absorbed by the body. When injected, Sculptra triggers a mild inflammatory response, prompting the body to produce more collagen as a natural healing mechanism. This increased collagen production leads to a gradual restoration of volume, improvement in skin texture, and reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Sculptra is often used in larger treatment areas, such as the cheeks, temples, and jawline, where volume loss is more significant. While the results develop over several weeks to months, they tend to be long-lasting, lasting up to 1 to 2 years on average. Multiple sessions are typically required for optimal outcomes. It’s important to have Sculptra administered by a qualified medical professional who understands the precise injection techniques to ensure safe and effective results.
